The Bordeaux Institute of Technology offers 15 specialities split up into 16 departments.
Since the start of the 2021 academic year, the Institute of Technology (IUT) has been training students for the new 3-year IUT diploma: the University Technical Diploma (BUT, 180 ECTS credits), offering a high level of professional training while preparing students for further study. Lasting 6 semesters, the training leading to the BUT is part of the European LMD scheme. A DUT (120 ETCS credits) is awarded after the first two years.
With the University Technical Diplome, the IUT has increased its attractiveness:
- Possibility of progressively building a personalised course of study according to one's personal and professional objectives.
- Innovative academic and technological teaching based on a skills-based approach
- Reinforcement of professional situations, periods in companies in internships or work-study programmes
- Access to transfer options throughout the course of study
