Earth and Environmental Sciences Faculty

Updated on:

The Earth and Environmental Sciences Faculty is the University of Bordeaux component in charge of implementing the teaching policy in the fields of earth and marine sciences related to the environment.

The Earth and Environmental Sciences Faculty works closely with three laboratories: EPOC, PACEA and I2M, associating the University of Bordeaux and the CNRS.

They are involved in Bachelor and Master programmes as well as in preparing the  teaching agrégation in life, earth & universe sciences (SV-STU). This training mission is backed by the outstanding commitment of a team of permanent and contractual lecturer-researchers, technical staff and a resource centre on site and in the field.

Every year, Earth and Environmental Science graduates join the workforce in the fields of research in earth and environmental sciences, geological and civil engineering, archeological research and expertise, as well as teaching careers in life and earth sciences.

As such, this faculty is a key player in these fields in Nouvelle Aquitaine and in France. The joint European Master "Marine Environment & Resources (MER2030)" that operates in collaboration with the universities of Southampton (United Kingdom), Bilbao (Spain) and Liège (Belgium) provides the training initiatives with increased international recognition and appeal.
